TEAM SYSTEM THINKING!

I am blessed to have two very successful business entrepreneurs in my life, Curtis Spolar and Orrin Woodward.

Below I want to share what Orrin has accomplished and how he is changing lives and mentoring me to do the same, this, once you understand, will change your heart. –David Ortiz

Orrin Woodward loves systems. That’s right, I love them. As a boy, being mathematically inclined, I develop statistical permutations to simulate a baseball game with my baseball cards. In fact, I realized years later, in my Statistics class at GMI, that I was being taught similar techniques to the ones that I developed when I was 12 years old. I LOVE SYSTEMS!

When I went to GMI-EMI (now Kettering), my bachelor of science was in Manufacturing Systems. I learned so much about manufacturing processing, theory of constraints, and cost analysis to become dangerous in the systems field. Becoming an engineer was one of the better decisions I made, helping me to think systematically when challenges arose.

Now I am a leader and networker, but I still love systems. Indeed, if it weren’t for my systems background, I would have never accomplished the result in networking that I have. To date, I have been blessed with 12 separate teams that gather over 300 people (some many more) at seminars monthly. How can anyone have that many organizations growing at the same time? Simply put, through systems. Continue Reading

EXCELLENCE

This word Excellence means way above average, because excellence begins with high expectations.

If one expects way above average results out of him or her self then one will need to raise the bar of excellence on them self.

Excellence also means way above execution, it means that I will purpose and train my flesh to learn and develop how to have an exceptional and great attitude in my life to rise above average.

My attitude and example should empower others to want to change to better their situations in life and possibly through transformation be able to help others.

So it will mean that the individual that desires excellence in there life must be willing to spend the time to learn about them self, there profession they are in so he or she may be able to see at what they are doing is being done well, and be willing to pay the price of patience, study and time so they may execute well.

But beware! Continue Reading

WHAT MONKEYS TEACH US!

Learning the Status Quo!

Imagine a cage containing five monkeys.

In the cage, hangs a beautiful ripe yellow banana on a string with an incredible aroma but it is just out of reach for the monkeys. So A few days later you build a set of steps under the banana for the monkeys to have access to the banana. Before long a monkey begins heading to the stairs, and begins his assent towards the banana.

Now As soon as he touches the stairs, you spray all of the monkeys with cold water, not just the one climbing the stairs, but all the monkeys.

After the initial shock of what just happened, another monkey makes his way toward the stairs and attempts to grab Continue Reading

The Nine Year Old And His Grandpa!

A lesson to be learned is to understand and value; moments, friendships, loved ones, teachable moments and things in you’re life, but not to confuse them with your priorities.

A grandfather and his 9-year-old grandson were walking across their farm to tend to a broken fence that was in need of repair. As the young boy followed his grandfather across the field, who was always focused on his priorities, his grandfather when they reached the other side of the field stopped and said to his grandson. “Johnny! You see my tracks in the snow, straight and true as an arrow’s flight, and then your tracks meandering all over the field. Notice Continue Reading

Life’s To Short, I’ll Have Chocolate Ice Cream Please!

Are you living your Life Intentionally For Excellence?

See how Bob purposes his life that at the end of it he can say, “Yes I Did, I won!”

One day I had lunch with some friends.
Bob, a short, balding golfer type about 69 years old, came along with my friends. I have never met the gentleman before but—all in all, a pleasant man.

When the menus were presented, I ordered a salad, another ordered a sandwich,
and another soup, and a few others fish, except for Bob who said, “Ice Cream, please, Two Continue Reading

A Leaders Goal Should Be To Make Friends!

When I first begun in business I wanted to conquer my industry and be the leading company in that industry. I wanted instant success, fame, notoriety, money, and the nicest office building in town and all that would come with it. I worked harder than everyone else, every year to be the number #1 company in my industry.

Isn’t that what most entrepreneurs do when we begin our quest. We have such big dreams, vision and lofty goals for our self’s, we self motivate and roll over anyone who gets in our way.

Over the last 24 years of being self-employed, what I have learned had to be self-taught. I had no one willing to mentor me, which would of, saved me a lot of heartache.

So what I want to do is to share some of my insights and mistakes I have made over the past 24 years, which has given me the wisdom, I have today.

Learning from others mistakes is very wise counsel! Continue Reading

GODS GIFT TO ME THIS MORNING!

I want to share Gods gift to me this morning with you all.

As I head out of the house to the office I some times go to the top of my property and pray for wisdom, guidance and needs. Well, this morning was a very special morning. There was snow as far as I can see. It was so beautiful I began to praise God and all the beauty God has given all of us.     (We all need to just stop, and breathe daily, and see what is around you. it is absolutely spectacular.) God then prompted me to call my brother Fred in Kansas. I was sharing with him just how gorgeous it was this morning from the top of the property and how good God is to me.

He then interrupted me and said that he was proud of me. That took me by surprise since he doesn’t say that to me, it seamed out of his character to say that. So I asked him why Continue Reading

ENTREPRENEURS Never Give Up!

When you think of an Entrepreneur

you can’t help to but think of a person who is blazing new trails, raising others up, someone who is creating something from nothing.

It’s the typical success story of a self-made individual that others look up to.

The word Entrepreneur has a magical sound, feel and ring to it. These types of people are not afraid to take a risk. While others hold back they step out.

Entrepreneurs are not afraid to fail; they don’t allow failure to control what they say, what they think, and what they Continue Reading

To Grow You Must Be Intentional!

“People don’t reach their potential on accident.”

I have a good friend who is also a mentor of mine, Curtis Spolar.

I met him not by accident but by purpose. Since our meeting he has become a mentor in the area of community building, personal development, raising up leaders in our communities and challenging me to be a better person that others can learn from.

I want to share some simple secrets that Curtis and others have taught me.

We know people don’t reach their potential on accident, and that the secret to success is found in people’s daily agendas.

We also know that if a person does something intentional to grow every day, they move closer to reaching their potential in life. If they don’t, it’s simple, they move further from their Continue Reading
